So...I've finally decided to bring my IROC back to life. It was parked after a crack had developed along the tread of the tires...and since then the neighbor's tree shat a branch onto its hood...which ended up leaving a fairly large dent and cracked the windshield.
Anyway...my Cutlass just isnt finished yet...I've been driving it for 2 years now...but its still not finished. So I'm parking her to finish up the loose ends.
The Camaro is an 88. It has a pathetic 305 that never responded to the upgrades (17 years old...I was rather bull headed). It has a Borla adjustable cat back (best money I ever spent on that car...stock motor sounds like a pure bred race engine...since I bought it the price of the exhaust system has risen from $550 to $810), a high flow cat, edelbrock headers, heads were milled to bump compression up slightly and had a 3 angle valve job performed, and the rest has all been fairly minor stuff. I'm curious whether or not a good intake base and runners would open it up...but not willing to spend the $700 to find out...not right now. A cam would also probably help. The 305 has enough power to have some fun with...but not enough to really scare anyone (in particular me ). Luckily it handles very well...letting me have fun in that aspect.
My original plan had been to fix up my 85 Delta 88 and drop in a 425 olds big block...however...after looking over the car...it needs significant rust repair that I cannot do right now. That will completely kill the budget...so it must remain parked.
Still...I am excited. It is a rare color...and looks very good in my opinion. Can't wait to drive it again.
Speaking of third gens...anyone know what happened to CC's fireturd?

CC's fireburp was relegated to daily commute duty for the owners girlfriend?wife?last time I saw anything about it in the magazine.I feel your pain regarding your 305 woes.I have a 92 formula with T tops with the weezer motor. Its my winter beater. Its a sharp car,fun to drive but not up to my standards as far as performance is concerned.I'm driving it while I do an overdue cosmetic resto on my maverick. If I wasnt putting my green in the old mav I would drop a 350 in the bird just to pop the t tops loose on launch.LOL...It has the good trans 4L60 and a posi with lame 2:73 gears. At least it has the WS6 package and cold ac which I dont need in winter.I feel your pain man,I really do.
