ok i have a 1994 chevy corvette LT-1 with 94,000 miles auto trans all original, first problem is after driving the car for about ten minutes the service LTPWS light comes on, i was told that this has somthing to do with tire pressure, but the tires are new and they check ok, what is this and how do i repair?? the second problem is when the car gets hot almost in danger area on gauge at a stop with foot on brake the car surges and tries to take off, and runs a little rough, otherwise it runs great, not sure where to start??  thanks for any help.    val.

A tireshop or dealership would probably have a better idea, but I think the tire air pressure sensors are battery powered in the rim. If either the sensors got damaged or possibly the batteries are getting low...I'm really just guessing but it's what I'm thinking.

The second problem could be a vacuum leak or a bad Idle Air Valve that acts up when the engine gets hot.  Those valves usually don't throw any "Check Engine" light codes when they go bad they just do goofy things to the idle.

The temperature being hot may or may not be related to the idle problems, if it is related another thought that crosses my mind is possibly carbon build up on the pistons causing pre-detonation or some sort of combustion problem at idle and the surging is a result of the computer trying to compensate for uneven cylinder firing.  To remedy this either run a good fuel treatment for a few fill ups or have a shop use a vacuum dispensed top engine cleaner on it (I guess you could have the heads pulled and the pistons phyically cleaned but that is pricey).

I hope this at least gives you some place to start.
