The Cutlass is nice , I for myself have never owned one ..heck I have bnever owned a GM myself, but those Cutlasses are cool . One of my Buddies had one it was very cool. It had a 350 with a auto but it was a real roller. Nice on the highway.

I owned a 72 cutlass in 1982. It was an awesome car.It was gold 350ci with dark tan interior, bucket seats, and rocket mags.I wish i still had it. Dont no rice burner under estimate oldsmobiles, for they are tough cars, where in,I like civics and corollas, but you cant beat old tough muscles cars. My 1979 monte-carlo has chevy motor,my brother has 1980 monte-carlo with olds .350stock my motor mildly beefed up(305ci). His car out pulls me easily.you cant beat olds engines. My opinion.Be happy with what you got. Don't make fun of other peoples car.For your car might break down mysteriously.Whatsoever a man soeth ,that shall he also reap. lend a helping hand when opportunity provides, and as i stated above.be happy with what you have,as some people cant even afford to buy a cheap car to drive.

I feel you man.I brought some people over to look at my 65 Impala. The first thing they said was"it would look good when its done." This car runs, drives and kick all around a## around my town. But these are the type of people who are more into hondas. But they still dis my pathfinder(it has a glasspack)for not sounding like a buzz-bomb. Who do these people think they are.

Mavman72: This tundra owner . . . Besides trailer trash cars are usually five different colors and have three different tire sizes on them at the same time.Oh and only two of those have enough air in them.I think Cisrocs olds sits right and looks bitchin.
Hey man, I feel the same way when someone bags on the "General Tito" YUGO that's holding up the front steps into the ol' doublewide . . . .
The ol' YUGO never was the same after that "Figure 8" race . . . .
Besides, the County towed off the IROC-Z that was holdin' up the porch 'cuz o' that family of rabid [rac]coons squattin' in it. (I was just holdin' on to it 'cuz I knowed JEFF SMITH was going to do a "swapping the ZR1 in to anything that rolls" story in Car Craft)
Hey, them ain't three diff'rnt sizes of "TARS," That's stagger!
And you just TRY to paint yer car with the spray bomb selection they have down at the "Toot-n-Totem!" It TAKES three or four diff'rnt colors . . . .
Scrapin' them bugs out of the paint ain't no picnic, either.
If it bothers yew that much, I got some John Deere Green down in the "chick'n house" that yer free to brush on . . . .
(Just don't git nun on m' "Grump Lump" hood scoop, cuz I still got it listed on eBay. I heard Dave Freiburger said all that '70s hot rod stuff is gonna git hot . . . an I got me a whole bedroom full o' goodies I been savin'. . . Barefoot foot-feeds . . . Highjackers . . . 6" leaf-spring shackle kits . . . 14" x 7" Keystone Klassic "mags" . . . Pro-trac "60" "tars" (not too weathercracked and a couple rows of tread in the middle that almost come up to the top of old Abe Lincoln's haid), Molly Hatchet and Skynrd on 8-Tracks . . .
I'm gonna be rich! (That'll make up for that Beanie Baby fiasco . . . .)
But hey! Don't yew go disin' dem TAIY-O-TA trucks, now!
Muh lil' HiLux has run fer 500,000 miles wit out so much as even an oil change . . . Don't smoke too much either . . . .
An' I used to drive her down to the scrap metal place every week . . .
('til I had to throw that Cop with a bad attitude through the windshield when he stopped me fer NO REASON pullin' out of "Bob's Kountry Bunker" at 2 a.m. on Saturday night.)
And 'cuz the Hilux has that cab-over camper on it, I can still tow it behind m' school bus motor home so that the stepkids will have some place to stay when me an' th' ol' ball-n-chain head down to Talladega to see Junior put a @$$whippin' on 'em . . . .
(Too bad we couldn't go this year 'cuz o' th' price uh gas and my parole officer said "no.")

WHUT?
I'd uh said "neither," but ever since I heard dat guy on dem Tahy-o-tuh Tundruh commercials . . . Ya' know th' one wit them five-packs-a-day set o' gravelly pipes . . . (kinda like m' first wife's voice before she got that little buzzy voice-box thang she hada hold up t' the hole in her neck, 't tell ya' da truth). . . .
Where wuz I?
Anyhoo, Tundruh-man said in that thair commercial "that aint no picnic, either", and it kinda stuck wit me.
Don't rightly know why . . . .
'Course I heard dat commercial on that there little Chinese pocket TV in the HiLux and it's kinda hard to hear since th' win-shield's out and wit the C.B. blarin', so he might'a said "neither."
I jus' c'ain't be sure . . . .

It absolutely pisses me off when someone disrespects my choice of car (69' amx). I feel the need to clobber those f'n idiots and trust me theres a lot of them that pick on the amcers. It's all good though, they don't laugh for long when the bad jeep passes them like they're standing still.

You have to take a reasonable approach to such insults.
On the one hand, life is too short to concern yourself with the occassional big-mouthed malcontent who fails to grasp the virtues of your choice in automobiles. No one type of car has universal appeal. And friendly (not obnoxious) rivalries between makes, styles and even eras are part of what make Car Crafting fun.
How you feel about your choice of car and on how to build/preserve it cannot be dependent upon achiving acceptance from "the mob." (I believe a lot of the lazy, catalog-car "cookie cutter" builds we see these days are symptomatic of the need of some hot rodders for mass approval, which is why it's a "dare" to be different) While the accolades of others are a bonus, the motivating factors must be more internal.
On the other hand, we live in community and have a responsiblity to it and to future generations of collectors and Car Crafters. All of us in this hobby are both teachers and (if we continue to grow)learners. None of us have all the answers or infallible judgment. None of us lives on a creative "island." Thus, we cannot ignore all reasoned criticism of, or advice on, how we exercise our personal automotive freedoms.
There are some things that are obviously short-sighted, stupid and irresponsible, such as cutting up a pristine (or restorable), rare and irreplaceable muscle car to make a gaudy low-rider or pro-streeter. Any number of lesser "cores" could be used for such purposes, preserving milestone cars for the edification of future generations.
Of course, there's a lot of gray area between these extremes, wherein differences of opinion should be expressed with respectful firmness and collegiality.
Thus, I see a balance is necessary: Ignore the occasional partisan chump "who just doesn't get it" but pay attention to reasonable voices who comment and even criticize, from a broad, long-term perspective which is informed by technical acumen, history and solid principles.
And no need to "clobber" anybody.

Toyota Tundra driver eh?
Who's the idiot in this conversation? The list of defects on that imitation of a truck is long and distinguished.

I don't blame you for being upset. A friend of mine asks me why I always am spending money on my chevy's when she says that her Toyota is more reliable and problem free than my S10 and Caprice. I wish I could point out to her that she has probably already dumped about $1300 into her truck since she got it, and I've probably put less than half that into my S10 for all the minor things that have needed fixing on it since I got it (and we both got them around roughly the same time). She doesn't see the point in my Caprice, aside from for some (strange to her) reason that I like it, and that it makes a lot of noise and goes fast. When I told her to check out vehicles that were in the same category of vehicle she was looking at, aside from toyota, she snubbed every single one of 'em, especially anything from Detroit, saying "they all sucked" and "have major problems." Every vehicle has its problems, every vehicle needs its maintanence, and every vehicle is just as expensive as the other. But as Ron White said, "You can't fix stupid."
