Heads up! Last I knew Rustoleum (R) would not stand up to gasoline. A friend of mine painted a 69 BSA gas tank with it and the first time he spilled gas on it all of the paint came off. Just something you might want to test before you spend your time and money on a paint job. Anybody know if it still does it or if you can fix the problem?

the enamel hardener in it will probably help there. wont make it bulletproof but more chemically resistance should come from it.

That's ok, my filler neck is behid my license plate.
- The Silver Buick- '77 Skylark coupe w/ a Fuel Injected Buick 455&TKO-600, '72 Centurion Conv't - 455w/TH400, '67 T-bird 4Dr (suicide) w/428&C6. Needing to replace a '69 Firebird 400.

Hey all, I know I'm resurrecting an old thread here, but I just thought I'd share my experience with this method. It really does work! The cost is low, but there's a lot of sanding, buffing, and patience involved. All in all, I'd do it again for sure....

what products did you use to buff?orbital?what grit,if used??

I just painted the doors and a front end off my 74 international scout im using a gravity feed gun using rustoluem paint it came out alright i mean its a 4x4 dont want a exspensive paint job
