Hey, is "1964 Oldsmobile F-85 Build - The $3,500 Challenge" Dec 2006 and "Meaner than a junkyard dog. (modifying an Olds Cutlass with junk yard parts)" Nov 1984 are awfully similar, whats going on?

They had to redo the article for me since I was in preschool in 1984.
- The Silver Buick- '77 Skylark coupe w/ a Fuel Injected Buick 455&TKO-600, '72 Centurion Conv't - 455w/TH400, '67 T-bird 4Dr (suicide) w/428&C6. Needing to replace a '69 Firebird 400.

Well, for one thing, in 1984 it would have been possible to find many 442s lying around in the junkyards from the late sixtys through the mid 70s. Any of the parts would have interchanged and things like boxed control arms and big diameter sway bars would have been available for cheap. Probably at this point those are gone. What would have bought some hefty upgrades in '84 would be limited to just engine and running gear now. In my case I bought sway bars, springs, and disc brakes through a supply house for a good price, but it still was pushing about grand. That included a full front end replacement minus steering box.
What they did with the $3500 Cutlass was really just scratching the surface. That car has just tons of potential. I have way too many projects already, but if someone hit me in the face with that car I wouldn't turn it down. Body style too rare and just too cool.
