The top (and windows) will have to be up at the track.

I'm all loaded (the car that is )and fluids and tire pressures are good. My list of things to do is complete except for installing the new harnesses. I managed to order a "bolt-in" set instead of the wrap around style. Oooopps!
The replacement set should be here tomorrow and I can throw them in.

Everyone needs to remember their registration and insurance pepers for the track tech. I don't know if Vegas requires it for their street car night, but I know that San Diego DID and several people did not get to race because of it.
Also, a helmet would be a good thing to bring regardless of ET. Could be one of those track specific rules.

4.11 gears, 30" tall tires and a OD trans. She's good for 75+ on the flat land.

Hey everyone-
Here are the official details (as best as we know them) to the Anti Tour.

Plan to be at Global West by noon on Friday.  They will have lunch or us, and we’ll have t-shirts (hopefully!) for all of you.  We’ll hang out at Global West for about an hour and hit the road at 1:00 for Las Vegas via the 15 freeway stopping as needed along the way for gasoline, road food and truck stop trinkets.

Global West’s address is:
655 South Lincoln Avenue
San Bernardino, California 92408
www.globalwest.net/

Once in Vegas, we’ll probably head straight to the racetrack to get in line, but we’ll make that announcement for sure on Friday.  Either way, plan for Midnight Mayhem drag racing starting at 8:00 Friday night.
The track info is:
Las Vegas Motor Speedway
7000 Las Vegas Blvd. N.
Las Vegas, Nevada 89115
800 644-4444
www.lvms.com

Saturday, us staffers will be at the PSCA Las Vegas Nationals drag races which start at 9:00 am.  Feel free to join us there and watch some really fast cars.  Afterwards, we’ll probably go spend the remainder of our paychecks at the craps tables (which won’t take very long!).

Sunday morning we’ll head back to Los Angeles via a scenic route that’s still to be determined, but may include a stop at the Hoover Dam and a few 2 lane roads in between.  Again, feel free to join us, or strike out on your own.

Looking forward to Friday!
-John (former photo editor turned staff guy)

It looks like you will have one more coming down from NorCal. I will meet you at Global West. I've wanted to do this event for years, and now it seems like its time to do it! I look foreword to seeing everyone. Unfortunately, I painted my car last October, so it is no longer the "dirt bag special".

I think Raj and I are going to have arm wrestle for that title again this year. The black Cuda against the black Impala.

I'll see everyone Friday. I need to change the oil and wash the truck today after work, and air up the tires.  Should be a nice little road trip.

See everyone there!

Shirts are here. I am going to put them in Jeff's trunk so be sure to mob him tommorow.
Also, Rambler went 12.40 at 110 observed last night at LACR. That's a bit better than 18.50 at 67 mph in the eighth mile in San Diego last year. Progress!

That's a bummer that your limited to only Friday. The "tour" is definately Pontiac challenged as far as attendance goes. Global West will still be fun though.

Hey Glad, good job with the Rambler. Won't take much in the way of tuning to click off a high eleven at a sea level track.

Both of our GTOs are ready to go. The Viper from Mt. Shasta should be here in less than an hour, and Bill's Mustang is all set and ready to go in the AM.

See you guys (and gals) tomarrow!

As quick as I was in. Now I'm out...The boss said this morning "You need too finish this presentation before you can go", so...working through lunch 6,7,8,9pm...bad luck. Hopefully, next year.

Regards

When are you going to do anti-tours in other parts of the country?  Heck, you don't even have to bring a car.  Just put out the word where it will be, when it will start and somebody in that area will surely meet you there with a qualified anti-tour ride for you to cruise in.  You would have a great adventure to write about in every place - what other people think the anti-tour should be like.

I just emailed John, thanking him for the coverage and the great article. I forgot you guys came from AZ. I never thanked you for the beer on Saturday evening at the track.

I also wanted to pass along thanks to Doug for the kudos towards my car. It was very flattering coming you. Thanks.

I'm hoping to come back next year with AFR heads, a roller cam that is bigger, steeper gears, maybe some EFI. I doubt it will be painted by then. Maybe I'll have those new quarters on, but I wouldn't hold my breathe.
