I would like to say I really like your project car as it really brings back memories of my own 66' 2 door post car. Mine was equiped with a 390 (one of five engine combinations) a four speed and 4:44 gears. The car ran 13:50's in track trim which was identical to street trim except the headers were open. I expect you to greatly exceed my results, but then again my car was built in 1968! Please get the hogan intake enstalled lets see what its worth.

I have a '69 AMX with a 390 automatic with an 8.8 late mustang rear w/disc brakes, 3:73 (standard in the shift cars) that runs 11.40s with 29 inch tires (the largest I can get under w/o tubs).  This rear would work well in the project Rambler.  The gears are better than stock and with the remove/replace of the spring mount pads is a simple installation AND gives the added advantage of the disc brakes.  I recently purchased a complete rear end for $50.00. Thanks for the continued efforts on the true "Red headed stepchild" of muscle cars.  It takes very mild mods to have I more than average performing AMC.  I also have a 290 auto. Rambler conv. that I am going to install the stang rear in.  Keep up the good work.
I think I,m in the wrong place but for my first time and being CI (computer illiterate) what can I expect.

Thanks for keeping the AMC Rambler project going.  I have an AMC 66 convertible with a 390 swapped in and I love to hear/see similar projects.  Thanks for thinking of us.

Hey guys, some of you may know me from amcforums.com.

I too have an American, but mines a 64.  So far plans are a blown 401, auto trans, and a 9 in rear.

    Someday !    I also have a 68 AMX and a 70 Rebel wagon

Can anybody tell me what mods were made to get the 904 tranny into the rambler.  Im looking to do the same for my leaking/slipping M11 in my 68 AMX.  What crossmenber mods were needed?

The crossmember is out of a stock V-8 Matador with a generic trans mount.
