i'm a long time lurker, first time poster -- new forums seem ok to me. just use the Active Posts link in the menu to see all the posts for all the forums.

Hey Prez.
No offense to guys who put this new design together, but my unofficial count; the number of post per day is WAY down since the change.
Since midnight last night there less than ten posts. That should you tell you something about how people are reacting to new forum. In my book, if people are staying away from the forum, it's because they don't like it.
If it ain't broke don't fix it kind of applies here as well.

I agree...I don't check this nearly as often as I used to. And when I do...I haven't missed much.
After using this for a while now...I don't really care for it that much...I've saved judgement until I've used it for a while.
I can live with it though.

Hey presidential...it's 10:42 PM EST and I count exactly 2 posts today. You may have had good intentions but you broke what was a working bulletin board. This new format has way too many areas, takes too long to load on a slow connection and takes one more page view to get to the actual post. What you have done is broken something that wasn't. It's not just me look a the posts above. Can we please have the old board back so you don't completely destroy what WE have helped you make here. I'm afraid that if this isn't fixed soon everything WE have here will go away. Please remember that the members make the board not the other way around.

I didn't break anything, this is what I was handed. I'm actually working on fixing what we've got (catagory wise) here.
However, this style of format is leaps and bounds above the old 1996 style message boards. It was so old that I couldn't find more than 2 or 3 sites that still used it, much less posted on it.
Much like a project car, this is what I was handed to work on. It has its good points and its flaws. Overall, this isn't a bad thing and will have the kinks ironed out in due time.
By the by, there is a new search function, might wanna check that out.

This forum needs:
A) Time-zone specific time stamping. Everything is stamped in California time.
B) E-mail alerts when someone replies to one of your threads. It's more efficient, generates more satisfied traffic, etc. National Instruments' message board uses it, and I go there at least two or three times a day AND find what I need. Here, I check all the time and get nothing.

I did not remember my password under my old accout and after numerous tries over several days each time I was "Supposedly" sent my pass word to my registered e-mail address I got squat ! Nuthin' zero zilch. I even tried getting my user name by entering my address which it again said it had sent me and once again ..... nada. I have had to re-register to even let you know I have a problem ! This is jacked up sir. Please find out what is wrong so I can go back to my old nik. Thanks......... Well not sure what happened but as soon as I went back to check this post , my old nik was on it and everything . I did register again new but it shows all of my old info ! I did go back and change my password . Not sure what the heck was going on but done now. All seems back to normal but we will see.
