TheSilverBuickII: Good to know I'm not the only one, not that it helps. And you wonder why we don't embrace the change.
Shoot me your email address and we'll check into the database to see what's up. You can either PM me with it or send it to craig.anderson@primedia.com.

I was having the same login issues as you guys were and I just about emailed Craig, then I thought of one more thing to try.
I also tried upper case, lower case, and even my email as the PW. What finally worked was the user name of "goat_racer" instead of just "goat racer", AND my email as the PW. I remembered that the old system used to show my user name with the underscore, even though I did'nt need it to log in.
Hopefully this may help you guys out.

Many people have asked why we've decided to change the format. The simple answer is that this format is easily searched with search engines (such as google and the like). It helps more people find us and find the good tech stuff you guys/gals post.
The new format also allows us to add more features in the future. I know it's going to take some getting used to, even for computer nerds like myself. In the long run, it's going to be a better thing.
Just keep giving me some input on what you'd like to see so I can add it to my list.

I like the new forum better. I had to use my e-mail address for password, as well. ![]()
But why am I not allowed to put a link to my car domain site in my sig?

Problems with new forum vs old forum. There are now, if I counted correctly, 31 different subject areas in which to post. In the old forum there was essentially one split up into 4 different areas - but I could see all of the posts at the same time. Now I would have to load 31 pages to see all of the new posts - this ain't gonna happen. You have violated the first rule of a chat system - don't make it a PIA to use - this one is. Just as importantly I now have to load 4 pages (home, forum front page, forum, actual post) to see a post - in the old forum I just had load 3, the home page and the forum page and the post (this is a 33% increase, good for total page views bad for users). Another issue for those of us on dial-up is the graphic intensity of the new pages - text loads quickly, graphics do not. Once again the first rule of customer servcice is broken Keep It Simple Stupid.

The core ones that you were used to are still there. Use the ones you need. ![]()
I've replied to all of the emails I recieved. Hopefully I can get word back on this today and get the issue resolved for everyone. I'm thinking that there is a blanket solution or some tip to get everyone's old log-in/username to work, I just have to find out what it is.
I'll keep everyone up to date on this.

I do agree, the old forum was easier to use. I dont care for how easy it is to search, or that is was split up more categorically, I was fine with a few areas with lots of info. Mainly still just grumpy about my account not being the same.

I've got an update for you all:
Try using your old username and then enter your email as your password. You can then change your password from there in the control panel once you're logged in.
If that still doesn't work out, shoot me an email.

this new set up is a str8 up headache! it wouldn't log me in under the name i post with,it wants the name you gave, example: not camtheman,i had to use camthema4,then i had to use my email as a password.it took 2 days worth of trying many combos before i got back in.over complicated and annoying,it must have come from hotrod magazine!

Once you mess with it for awhile, it becomes easier and more friendly to use. Personally, I was lost on the old boards since I hadn't used that type of board in years. This one is set up more like the ones I am used to posting on.

I tried the email password a couple days ago. Going to "forgot password" for "TheSilverBuick" only gets me an "invalid name" message. I've tried case sensitive, capitals, lowercases, with and with out spaces, underscores as spaces, and the some tactics with my password and email address to no avail.
